The Australian Chiropractors Association (ACA), founded in 1990 as the Chiropractors’ Association of Australia (CAA), is the largest association of chiropractors and chiropractic students in Australia.

Member of the ACA

An underlying principle of chiropractic is “healthy spine, healthier life”. By offering expert drug-free spinal health care and lifestyle advice, chiropractors help Australians lead and maintain healthy lives.

With over 3,000 members, the ACA is the largest chiropractic health body in Australia, and coordinates its efforts with its 8 autonomous ACA state & territory organisations.

Following the restructure in 1990, the association’s headquarters were moved from Penrith to Parramatta.

The Australian Chiropractors Association exists to:

  • Facilitate and promote communication between members, leadership and the chiropractic community.
  • Develop and promote chiropractic.
  • Support and represent members and be responsive to their needs.
  • Uphold the core values of chiropractic.
  • Provide leadership and facilitate unity within the profession.
  • Facilitate fellowship.
  • Set and maintain standards.

Primary Health Care

This treatment is applied by using physical therapy techniques with other associated therapy.

Muscle Release Therapy

Trigger points (hype-irritable spots) located in a tight band of muscles can sometimes feel like nodules in the muscles. Treatments usually involves applying direct pressure on the nodules and/or passive and active stretching of the muscles.

Spinal Mobilisations

Involve small gentle and specific movements that are applies to the painful stiff or inflamed areas.

Spinal Adjustments

Are more precise movements that are used to correct areas of joint dysfunction. Spinal mobilisation and adjustments when used appropriately are very effective in reducing pain, increasing blood flow, increasing spinal and joint range of motion, breaking down scar tissue and reducing muscle spasm.
